Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini, organised an insightful session on Problem Identification and Innovation under Entrepreneurship on 17th July 2025 for management students aspiring to pursue entrepreneurship as a career path. The session was conducted by Mr. Akshdeep, CEO, Sports and Dr. Ramesh Kumar Barpa, Director SIIF with the help of Professor Dr. Sheetal Chaddha.
The focus of the session was on the SCAMPER model—an established creative thinking framework designed to enhance innovation and idea development. SCAMPER stands for Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to Another Use, Eliminate, and Rearrange/Reverse.
The session began with an engaging group activity where students were divided into teams and assigned different products. Using the SCAMPER model, each team brainstormed innovative ways to modify or improve their assigned product. This practical approach enabled students to apply the theoretical concepts in a collaborative environment.
Followed by , each team presented their ideas on stage, demonstrating how they leveraged the SCAMPER framework to rethink and reimagine existing products. These presentations reflected strong critical thinking, creativity, and application of classroom learning to real-world scenarios.
Dr. Ramesh and Mr. Akshdeep enriched the session with real-world insights, practical examples, and interactive engagement, encouraging students to think beyond conventional approaches. Their combined expertise and approachable teaching style made the session highly impactful and inspiring.
Overall, the session proved to be a valuable learning experience, equipping future entrepreneurs with a powerful tool for ideation and creative problem-solving.
