He delivered two highly insightful sessions on Compensation Management for our PGPM students. The sessions covered substantial HR foundations and real-world practice:

• Job Evaluation- Students explored the objectives of job evaluation, its systematic process (job analysis, factor identification, weighting, grading), and comparative methods. Mr. Verma emphasized how transparent evaluation ensures internal equity and forms the backbone of fair pay structures.

• Principles of Compensation Administration - He explained strategic principles like fairness, consistency, market competitiveness, and legal compliance. Through discussions on internal- external equity, salary surveys, and compa-ratios, students learned how companies design compensation that is both competitive and balanced.

• Financial & Non-Financial Rewards - The session clarified the full reward spectrum: financial (basic, allowances, incentives, variable pay) and non-financial (recognition, autonomy, development opportunities). The mechanics and impact of performance-linked pay were broken down with industry examples.

• Structure of Salary & Benefits- Students received a clear framework of fixed pay, variable pay, benefits, and incentives. He highlighted how organizations blend stability, motivation, and affordability to create compelling compensation packages aligned with business needs.

• Linking Compensation to Performance & Capability- Mr. Verma demonstrated how effective compensation is tied to role complexity, KPIs, capabilities, and strategic organizational goals. Students saw how well-designed pay systems reinforce accountability, productivity, and a high-performance culture.

• Case-Based Insights – Using real experiences from his senior leadership roles, he shared challenges and solutions in compensation restructuring, job evaluation exercises, variable pay architecture, and designing motivating reward systems for diverse workforces.

His ability to simplify complex HR concepts, connect them to corporate realities, and push students to think strategically made the session exceptionally impactful. The case discussions served as a strong bridge between classroom concepts and practical HR application.
