Navras- Vibe for India was a vibrant and creatively curated cultural event organized by EKYUM – the Cultural Club of Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS),Rohini, Sector 5 held on Saturday January 24, 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and lively audience engagement from students across various programmes.
The central theme of Navras was based on the classical Indian concept of the nine emotions, thoughtfully interwoven with the spirit of Republic Day, while allowing participants complete artistic freedom. Participants were required to select one or more ras (emotion) for India and present it through a dance performance. The students were enabled performers to creatively express emotions through music and movement. The core evaluation criterion focused on the clarity, depth, and authenticity with which the chosen emotion was portrayed.
The performances were evaluated by a distinguished faculty panel comprising Dr. Shrajal Gupta and Dr. Vikas Tyagi, who assessed participants on parameters such as emotional expression, coordination, creativity, and overall stage presentation. The judging process was conducted in a fair and unbiased manner.
To enhance audience engagement, interactive quiz questions with a management perspective were conducted between performances. These questions encouraged analytical thinking by drawing management insights and innovation lessons from popular Hindi films. The audience participation was enthusiastic, who got sponsored coupons—on food and beverage offers from CS Chronicles.
Winners were felicitated with cash prizes and trophies, which further motivated participants and elevated the competitive spirit.
Overall, Navras was successfully executed as a student-led initiative under EKYUM, showcasing exceptional talent, teamwork, and organizational skills. From stage management and coordination to audience interaction, the event was seamlessly managed by the student team. The creativity of the performances and the energetic atmosphere received widespread appreciation from faculty members and students alike.
Navras truly reflected the cultural ethos of JIMS and stood out as a memorable celebration of expression, creativity, and student leadership.
