A two-day workshop on “Workshop on Prompt Engineering in AI” was conducted for PGDM students at Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini, Delhi, on 6-7 February. The workshop focused on developing both conceptual understanding and practical competence in the use of Prompt engineering and Generative AI for managerial and academic applications. The sessions were delivered by Dr Shrajal Gupta, Assistant Manager, JIMS Rohini and Mr Himanshu Shukla, Sr Manager, BeatO as resource persons.
The program covered key aspects of prompt engineering, including structured prompting techniques, zero-shot and few-shot prompting, chain-of-thought reasoning, problem decomposition, and effective prompt design strategies. Participants were also introduced to important Large Language Model (LLM) parameters such as temperature, top-p, and token limits to better understand how AI-generated outputs can be controlled and optimized for decision-making and analytical tasks.
In addition, hands-on exposure was provided on various AI tools including ChatGPT, Gemini, Julius, Humata, Gamma, NotebookLM, Ailyze, SciSpace, Canva AI, and other productivity-oriented platforms. Through demonstrations and interactive exercises, students explored applications in research support, data analysis, content creation, presentation development, and strategic problem-solving. The workshop aimed to enhance AI literacy, analytical thinking, and responsible AI usage among management students.
