Jagan Institute of Management Studies organised a session on “Digital Transformation and changing Banking Scenario and an IIBF perspective into the Future of Banking” on 27th Aug 2025 for the students of PGDM (2025-27) with an objective to provide valuable insights about the future of BFSI sector. The session was graced by eminent speakers, Dr. Narinder Kumar Bhasin, Zonal Head – PDC, North Zone at IIBF, and Mr. Sanjay Aggarwal, Assistant Director, IIBF New Delhi. The event focused on the evolving dynamics of banking in the era of digital transformation.
Dr. Bhasin briefs about the current opportunities in Banking Sector and how a management student should get into it. He encouraged students to view banking and finance not just as career opportunities, but as dynamic fields that demand adaptability, analytical skills and a forward-looking mindset in the face of digital transformation.
Mr. Sanjay further elaborated about the functioning of Banks acting as intermediaries that channel savings into investments and enable smooth financial transactions.
Key learning included the balance between profitability and stability, as well as aligning short-term liquidity with long-term growth.
The event was highly enriching, offering clarity on the fundamentals of banking while also highlighting the rapidly changing landscape influenced by technology and digital innovation. It left the students motivated and better prepared to explore careers in the BFSI sector.
