Guest Session on AI in Retail Decision-Making

The PGDM Retail Management Department at Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini organized an engaging guest session titled “Using AI for Smarter Retail Decisions: From Customer Feedback to Store Operations” on February 13, 2026 for Trimester III students. The session was delivered by Mr. James Goh, CEO & Founder of AILYZE, who shared valuable insights on how Artificial Intelligence is transforming retail research and decision-making.

During the session, Mr. Goh highlighted how retailers collect large volumes of customer feedback through surveys, interviews, and in-store interactions. Manually analyzing such qualitative data can be extremely time-consuming; therefore, AI-powered platforms like AILYZE help convert large datasets into meaningful insights quickly and efficiently. The platform allows users to upload various file formats such as PDF, DOCX, CSV, and spreadsheets and automatically extract themes, patterns, and key insights from the data.

Students were also introduced to the platform’s AI Interviewer, which can conduct interviews and gather feedback in multiple languages including Hindi. The tool can automatically perform thematic analysis, content analysis, and frequency analysis, helping researchers and businesses identify important trends and customer sentiments from large volumes of responses.

Another interesting feature discussed was the ability to “chat with the data”, where users can ask questions directly to their uploaded documents and receive answers supported with quotes and insights from the original data. The platform can also generate summaries, visualizations, and structured reports, making qualitative research faster and more accessible for both academic and industry use.

Overall, the session successfully connected academic learning with emerging AI-driven research practices in the retail industry. Students gained practical exposure to innovative tools that help retailers analyze customer feedback, improve store operations, and make smarter data-driven decisions.
