The PGDM Department of Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini organized a two-day workshop on “Storytelling Using Power BI” for PGDM students. The session aimed to enhance students’ analytical and data visualization skills by demonstrating how data can be effectively communicated through compelling stories and interactive dashboards.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Murshidul Anowar, Lead Business Analyst at Acumen India. With his extensive experience in business analytics and data-driven decision-making
During the workshop, Mr. Anowar introduced students to the fundamentals of data visualization and emphasized the importance of storytelling in business analytics. He explained how tools like Microsoft Power BI enable professionals to analyze large datasets, create dynamic dashboards, and present insights in a visually engaging manner. The session covered key concepts such as data cleaning, creating visual reports, using interactive filters, and designing dashboards that effectively communicate business insights.
Students were also given practical demonstrations and hands-on exposure to Power BI, which helped them understand how to convert raw data into informative visuals that support strategic decision-making. Mr. Anowar highlighted real-world industry examples to show how storytelling through data helps organizations identify trends, understand customer behavior, and make informed business decisions.
The workshop was highly interactive, encouraging students to experiment with visualization tools and ask questions related to real-life business scenarios.
