As part of the Orientation Programme for the PGDM, International Business (IB), and Retail Management (RM) Batch (2026–2028), Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini organized an insightful session on 6th July 2026 on "Self Imaging" by Ms. Vibha Sarin Prabhakar, Member & Independent Director with the Institute of Directors (IOD) and Advisor to Startups as Chief Experience & Growth Officer.
The session encouraged students to understand the importance of self-image and its influence on personal and professional success. Moving beyond conventional grooming, Ms. Prabhakar highlighted the significance of executive presence and explained how confidence, attitude, communication, values, and self-belief collectively shape an individual's personality. Through interactive discussions and engaging activities, she introduced the Iceberg Theory of Personality, emphasizing that while appearance creates the first impression, it is one's character, competence, and mindset that leave a lasting impact.
A key highlight of the session was the discussion on the 4Cs of Executive Presence—Communication, Courtesy, Collaboration, and Conduct. Students gained valuable insights into how these essential qualities contribute to effective leadership, workplace relationships, teamwork, and long-term career success. The interactive nature of the session encouraged participants to reflect on their strengths, identify areas for improvement, and cultivate a positive and growth-oriented mindset.
The session concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing that a strong self-image is built not merely through external appearance but through continuous self-development, integrity, confidence, and the ability to positively influence others. It provided the incoming batch with valuable perspectives and practical takeaways to help them embark on their management journey with greater self-awareness and professionalism.
