As part of the Orientation Programme 2026, Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS, Rohini) organized two insightful panel discussions titled "Campus to Corporate: Preparing for the Real World" for the newly admitted PGDM, PGDM-IB, and PGDM-RM Batch 2026–28 on 3rd July 2026. The objective of the discussions was to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations while preparing students for a successful transition into the corporate world.
The panel discussions featured an esteemed line up of accomplished industry leaders and Human Resource professionals representing leading organizations across diverse sectors, including healthcare and health-tech, automotive manufacturing, retail and lifestyle, commercial real estate, business process management (BPM), and flexible workspace solutions. The distinguished panel comprised Mr. Rohit Gupta, Head – Insurance Partnerships & PSU, MediBuddy (PGDBM 2001–03 Alumnus); Ms. Srishti Wadhwa, Head HR, Yamaha; Ms. Nidhi Luthra, Head HR, OMA Living; Mr. Deepak Zutshi, Cluster Head – Leasing, Nexus Select Trust; Mr. Rohan Sudan, India Campus Head, WNS; and Mr. Pawan Kumar, General Manager – HR, Awfis Space Solutions Limited. Their rich industry experience and practical insights offered students a valuable perspective on the evolving corporate landscape and the competencies essential for building successful careers.
Drawing upon their extensive industry experience, the panelists shared valuable insights into the evolving corporate landscape and highlighted the knowledge, skills, and professional mindset required to thrive in today's dynamic business environment. Their practical perspectives provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the competencies and attributes expected by employers across industries.
A significant focus of the discussions was on emerging industry trends, workplace expectations, and the growing impact of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) on business operations, decision-making, productivity, and future job roles. Students were encouraged to cultivate a growth mindset, embrace technological advancements, and continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills to remain competitive in the rapidly evolving business environment.
The experts also shared practical guidance on resume building, interview preparation, internships, live projects, networking, professional communication, workplace etiquette, corporate grooming, and long-term career planning. They encouraged students to leverage every opportunity during their PGDM journey to build industry readiness and enhance their employability.
Both sessions concluded with highly interactive Question-and-Answer rounds, where students actively engaged with the panelists on topics such as career planning, specialization choices, placements, leadership, AI, workplace culture, and professional growth. During the PGDM session, the Top Five Questions were recognized for their originality and relevance, with the selected students receiving gifts as tokens of appreciation.
