Jagan Institute of Management Studies (JIMS), Rohini organised an Open Elective Workshop on “Applied Business Data Analytics & Visualization Bootcamp” for the PGDM-IB
(2025–27) students as part of their curriculum. The three-session workshop was conducted on 19th August, 26th
August, and 2nd September 2026, and was led by Mr. Murshidul Anowar, Founder, Skill Binders.
The workshop focused on developing practical and industry-relevant skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Query, Power BI
with DAX. Students gained hands-on exposure to data cleaning and transformation, data modelling, advanced Excel
formulas, Pivot Tables, and business reporting.
The sessions also covered Power BI dashboard development, interactive visualisations, slicers, drill-throughs, combo
charts, KPI design, and data storytelling. Students worked with real-world business datasets and
explored the complete process of importing, cleaning, modelling, analysing, and visualising data.
Through practical demonstrations, guided exercises, and business case activities, the workshop enabled students to
transform raw data
into meaningful insights and strengthened their analytical thinking, data interpretation, reporting, and data-driven
decision-making skills.
Overall, the workshop provided students with valuable experiential learning and enhanced their confidence in applying
business analytics and
visualization tools to real-world business situations and professional decision-making.
