JIMS Rohini organised an expert session on “International Business in the Context of Shifts in Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Landscape: Opportunities and Challenges” on Monday, 26th October 2026 for the students of PGDM-International Business with an objective to discuss the career path and future opportunities.
The institute was honoured to host Dr. Rohit Mehtani, Adviser (International Business Law), Convener of the International Business Negotiations Program and a British Chevening Scholar of Global Political Economy as a resource person. Drawing on his experience in international business law and negotiations, he explained how changing global power equations, trade tensions, supply chain realignments, sanctions and shifting economic alliances are reshaping the way companies operate across borders.
He discussed the opportunities these shifts create, such as new markets, diversified sourcing and growing regional trade partnerships, along with the challenges of regulatory uncertainty, geopolitical risk and the need for agile strategy and sound legal and negotiation skills. He encouraged students to build a global outlook, to follow world economic and political developments closely, and to develop cross-cultural and negotiation capabilities for careers in international business.
