Tekqbe, IT club of JIMS had organized a successful workshop on Cyber security and hacking

Tekqbe, IT club of JIMS had organized a successful workshop on 1-April-2019, with an interesting theme “Cyber Security and hacking 101”. We had more than 150 registrations and the auditorium was jam-packed. Our Chief guest Dr. A.K. Mohapatra, graced the occasion and shared his knowledge on important issues of cyber security. Dr. A.K. Mohapatra is currently working as a chief technical advisor in Delhi Police. He spoke about the idea of safe Delhi and the government funded projects. In the session, he outlined on the latest major project of Delhi police, where there will be more than 2 Lakhs CCTV cameras in Delhi, which will be connected with internet. He also talked about various problems associated with cyber security in India. He talked about CCTV video streaming data hacking in context of GDPR and privacy issues.

Second part of the technical session was conducted by a BCA 1st year student Sonu Hussain, from JIMS. He explained various types of hacking and hackers. In his interactive session, he practically demonstrated various ways to penetrate the systems e.g. how to hack a website, Wi-Fi and windows OS as well. Finally, the vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Praveen Gupta and Ms. Bhawna Galhotra, faculties of IT department, JIMS Rohini. The session was highly interactive and motivating for the students.
