The ATMA 2027 session is expected to be announced by the Association of
Indian Management Schools (AIMS). However, the official schedule for ATMA
2027 has not been released yet. Candidates should wait for the official
notification before relying on registration, exam, or admit card dates.
First, Know What You're Up Against
ATMA is a 3-hour, fully computer-based
test with 180 questions across six
sections, and it's
strictly sectional — 30 minutes per section, no going
back once time runs out:
- Analytical Reasoning
Skills I & II — 60 questions
- Verbal Skills I &
II — 60
questions
- Quantitative Skills I
& II
— 60 questions
Marking scheme:
+1 for every correct answer, −0.25 for every wrong
answer, 0 for unattempted questions. Because there's no
going back between sections, your strategy has to be built
section by section, not paper-wide.
The 12-Day Plan
Days 1–4: Diagnose and Patch Weak Spots
Take one full-length mock under real timed,
sectional conditions. Don't skip this — it tells you exactly where
you're losing marks. Then spend these four days revising
only your weak areas:
- Quant: Brush up on arithmetic (percentages,
profit-loss, averages, time-speed-distance), and revisit basic
algebra and geometry formulas. ATMA quant leans more toward speed on
fundamentals than tricky problem-solving.
- Verbal: Reading comprehension carries the
heaviest weight in this section, so prioritize timed RC practice,
followed by vocabulary (synonyms/antonyms), grammar rules, and
para-jumbles.
- Analytical Reasoning: Drill puzzles, arrangements
(linear/circular), blood relations, syllogisms, and critical
reasoning/argument-based questions daily. This section rewards
pattern recognition built through repetition.
Days 5–9: Full-Length Mocks, Daily
This is the core of your prep. Take one full,
sectional-timed mock every day (or every alternate day if you need
review time), and treat each one like exam day — same time slot if
possible, no pausing mid-section.
After each mock:
- Review every
wrong and skipped answer.
- Log
why you got it wrong — silly mistake,
concept gap, or ran out of time.
- Rework similar
questions to close that specific gap the next day.
By day 9, you should be able to comfortably
attempt at least 20–22 questions per section within the 30-minute
window without rushing the last few.
Days 10–11: Sectional Sprints + Accuracy Checks
Switch from full mocks to short, focused
30-minute sectional drills — one attempt per section per day, done
quickly right after waking up or in your actual exam time slot (2
PM–5 PM), to train your brain for that window.
Also do a final accuracy audit: given the
negative marking, decide your attempt
threshold per section now
— the number of questions you'll attempt confidently versus leave,
so you're not making that call live under pressure on exam day.
Day 12 (Day Before): Light Revision Only
- Skim formula
sheets, grammar rules, and reasoning shortcuts — no new
topics.
- Re-read your
mistake log from the mocks.
- Confirm your
admit card, ID proof, and exam center details.
- Get a full
night's sleep. Fatigue costs more marks in a strictly-timed exam
than any last-minute revision gains.

Exam Day Strategy
- Since sections
are locked once time is up, don't
linger on any single
question. If it's taking more than 60–75 seconds, mark and
move on within that section.
- Attempt easier
questions first within each 30-minute block, then return to harder
ones if time allows.
- Given the
−0.25 negative marking, only guess if you can eliminate at
least two options — random guessing on all 180 questions is a
net negative in expectation.
- Sections run
in a fixed sequence, so pace yourself knowing you can't borrow time
from a later section.
Final Word
Two weeks isn't enough to master a new
syllabus, but it's plenty to convert existing preparation into a sharper
score — through disciplined, sectional-timed practice and honest
review of your mistakes. Prioritize your weakest section this week,
protect your accuracy in your strongest one, and walk in with a clear
plan for how you'll spend those 30 minutes per section.
